black women lead
We are elated to see several women on the 2023 Black Women Lead list represent our organization! The list includes chapter members Carole Copeland Thomas, Shirley Carrington, Barbara Elam, Jackie Jenkins-Scott, Jean McGuire, Eva Mitchell, Tulaine M. Montgomery, Shirley Owens-Hicks, Colette Phillips, Glendora McIlwain Putnam, JD, Rachael Rollins, JD, Dianne Wilkerson and the late Thelma D. Burns. Our organization is also represented by Lani Guinier, JD, Gwen Ifill and Myechia Minter Jordan, MD.
“The 200 Black Women represented the tireless efforts to make Greater Boston a better place since the 1700s. A special committee determined the list that began in 2019. The event was the first of its kind in Massachusetts.
Fundraising efforts were successful, and 200 banners will fly high on Boston's Blue Hill Avenue in the summer of 2023. The goal is to have the banners in place in time for the NAACP National Conventionhosted in Boston this summer.”
