The Boston Alumnae Chapter was chartered on March 12, 1945, as Alpha Omicron Sigma and, for over 75 years has been actively engaging in public service throughout the Commonwealth. Our membership has grown to over 180 women diverse in age, background, and profession. We share a common bond in sisterhood, scholarship, service and social action and remain steadfast in our commitment to providing quality programming/events that are in-line with our Sorority's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust as well as investing in our future through our annual scholarships programs. Alpha Omicron Sigma chapter was chartered on March 12, 1945, as a graduate chapter for the members of Iota Chapter to transition after completing their studies. In November of 1958, as part of national policy, graduate chapters became identified by the city or state in which they were located. Alpha Omicron Sigma then became Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta is a sisterhood that has been called to serve. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
