—  President's Letter

Welcome to the Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the official online home of the Boston Alumnae Chapter (BAC). For more than 80 years, BAC has been a beacon of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action in the Greater Boston area. Today, we are a vibrant collective of over 150 women—educators shaping minds, policymakers driving change, entrepreneurs growing businesses, and advocates championing causes. Our members lead in education, government, business, and beyond. BAC is home to trailblazers, such as Massachusetts State Senator Liz Miranda, Thelma D. Burns, and many others. Collectively, we are united in our commitment to uplift and empower our community.

Our legacy of impact runs deep. Our award-winning youth initiatives, Delta Academy and Delta GEMS, nurture the next generation of leaders. In just the past five years alone, we have awarded over $80,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing higher education. Each year, we reach more than 500 community members through our programs and initiatives. Ourprograms aim to promote economic advancement, youth empowerment, international engagement, physical and mental wellness, and social action.

We invite you to explore our programs, attend our events, and reach out to collaborate, sponsor, or partner with us to create positive change. Contact us at bac.delta1913@gmail.com.

To my sisters of Delta Sigma Theta visiting our site, welcome, Soror! Boston Alumnae’s sisterhood champions your voice, values your time, and elevates your leadership. Join us to expand your network and connect with women of all generations and life experiences.

BAC serves boldly, authentically, and consistently.

Yours in Service,

Lendsey Thicklin, Boston Alumnae Chapter, President

In November of 1958, as part of national policy, graduate chapters became identified by the city or state in which they were located. Alpha Omicron Sigma then became Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
